If you think others in the KNIME community could learn or improve their technical skills thanks to your article, if you have shared a useful component on the KNIME Hub, or if you have produced a great solution to a common data science task, then we want to hear from you!

Our Main Categories

The scope of the journal will fall into three main article categories:

  • Getting Started
  • Data Science Theory
  • Data and Evangelism Stories

If you’re writing about the basics of KNIME software, your article will be hosted in the “Getting Started” category. If you are demonstrating data science concepts using KNIME workflows, your article will be hosted in the data science “Theory” category. Lastly, if you’re telling a story about a general use case or other experiences with KNIME, your article will be in data “Stories”. There’s a space for everyone!

Data Science Topics

The focus of articles should be data or data science topics, visual programming techniques, integration of open-source tools, case studies, innovative technical solutions, or tips and tricks about KNIME Analytics Platform. We suggest using these fields as an orientation for your writing:

  • Data Wrangling /ETL
  • Data engineering & Big Data
  • Machine Learning
  • Statistics
  • Deep Learning
  • Success Stories
  • Intro to KNIME
  • Text Processing
  • Image Processing
  • Life Sciences
  • Productionization & Data Apps

Review & Approval of Submissions

Before publication, all submissions will be reviewed by the editorial board. We expect short articles (max. 3000 words) in English; figures must be authorized reproductions or copyright free; article format will be determined by the journal template.

Please make sure that your articles:

  • Abide by Medium’s content policy
  • Have a distinct data science flavor
  • Contain data science that is correct
  • Contain no profanities, discriminatory, or offensive messages
  • Contain no advertisements for other commercial software
